Charlie’s Angels was a television series broadcast on ABC from 1976 to 1981 starring Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Jaclyn Smith as private investigators for the Charles Townsend Agency (owned by the mysterious Charlie).
Charlie’s Angels reappeared in 2000 as an action-comedy movie loosely based on the original television series starring Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu. In 2003, the Angels returned to the box office with Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, which grossed more thean $250 million worldwide.
Drew Barrymore, who owns the rights to Charlie’s Angels franchise, suggested early in 2009 to the press that a third installment of the Charlie’s Angels movies was in the works.
